World Environment Day - 2021

1972 වර්ෂයේ ස්වීඩනයේ ස්ටොක්හෝම් නුවර දී පැවති පරිසර සමුළුවේ දී ගන්නා ලද තීරණයකට අනුව එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ පරිසර වැඩසටහනේ සමාරම්භක දිනය සැමරීම සඳහා සෑම වසරකම ජුනි මස 05 වන දින ‘‘ජගත් පරිසර දිනය” ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කළේ ය.

මේ උදාවූ ලෝක පරිසර දිනය වෙනුවෙන් ලොව පුරා පැතිර යන වසංගත තත්ත්වය හමුවේ මිනිසුන් ලෙස අප කළ පරිසර විනාශය දෙස හැරී බලා එම විපාක අවම කරගැනීම සඳහා ක්‍රියාත්මක වීමට මෙය සුදුසු කාලයයි.

World Environment Day was established in 1972 by the United Nations at the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment, that had resulted from discussions on the integration of human interactions and the environment.

On this World Environment Day it is high time that we as human beings look back at the devastation that has befallen the world and take action to mitigate the consequences.
